Justin Sands grew up in small-town Western North Carolina, and he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2005 with a major in Religious Studies. After UNC, Sands obtained an M.A. at Villanova University, and then he received a Ph.D. from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He’s now living and working in an academic position in South Africa. Sands will be talking about how the study of religion—and his UNC Religious Studies major—changed his life, opening the doors to an exciting and adventurous international path.
